It appears the Cleveland Browns are attempting to build a talented, young receiving corps through the NFL Draft for sophomore quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
In the first round of this year's event in Pittsburgh, Cleveland started things off by selecting offensive tackle Spencer Fano from Utah with their ninth pick. They followed that by getting Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion at No. 24 overall, as their first receiver of the three-day event.
There were still several significant wide receivers left on the board for Friday's second round, and the Browns quickly added another early in the night. With the 39th pick, they chose Washington Huskies receiver Denzel Boston, providing Sanders further weapons for next season.

Boston spent four seasons with Washington, recording 132 receptions for 1,781 yards and 20 touchdowns. After his NFL Scouting Combine months ago, NFL.com graded him a 6.40 and said he'd become a good starter within two years.
As mentioned, they also drafted Concepcion in the first round. The Texas A&M standout had 61 receptions, 919 yards, and nine touchdowns last season for the Aggies.
Cleveland finished second-to-last in the NFL with 140.3 passing yards per game. However, Sanders now has several more potential weapons to throw to in the upcoming season. The Browns already have a receiving corps that includes Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, and Isaiah Bond.

However, the most intriguing aspect of Cleveland's situation is that Sanders may or may not be their quarterback of the future. A lot will hinge on him proving himself under new head coach Todd Monken, formerly the Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator.
If Sanders' growth continues in his second season, he could continue to start as QB1 for the Browns. However, the team could always go in another direction, especially with how the 2027 NFL Draft looks regarding quarterbacks.
Next year's class includes talented Oregon Ducks QB Dante Moore, Texas Longhorns QB Arch Manning, and Ohio State's Julian Sayin, among others. So it's going to be an interesting season in Cleveland to see whether this team is among the NFL's tanking squads or among improving teams on the verge of a postseason run.
