Conklin is an important piece of the Browns' offensive line and is important in terms of protecting Joe Flacco. Hopefully, the star OL only suffered a surface eye injury that can be treated and he can return to the field.
The Browns did state him as questionable, meaning that Conklin may return at some point. However, if he cannot see due to whatever eye injury he suffered, then it would be far smarter to keep him out for the remainder of the game.
Cleveland is attempting to start the season off strong, landing a win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Divisional games are always tough, and the Bengals have a very formidable offense.
On defense, they have perennial edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, who is already tough to deal with. Losing Conklin will also make dealing with Hendrickson that much tougher.
Cleveland has a lot of questions regarding what team they can be in 2025, and it will be up to Flacco and company to get the ball rolling on putting together some big wins.
The good news is that Conklin has yet to be ruled out for the remainder of the game, but his injury status will be one to watch.
