The Los Angeles Chargers have been patiently waiting for star running back Omarion Hampton to heal from an ankle fracture he suffered in Week 5 of the regular season. Now, the team has received some huge news on his availability for the Philadelphia Eagles games.
Los Angeles is currently sitting in the fifth seed in the AFC at an 8-4 record, but the team will need to keep winning to ensure they do not get passed by the other teams in the hunt. It is almost a guarantee that the Denver Broncos will win the AFC West, so the Chargers need some big wins down the stretch to secure their Wild Card spot.
That said, the team has had a limited running game, despite Kimani Vidal starting to show some flashes of brilliance. Now, the Chargers will get back their next best rusher, as Hampton is being activated and will play on Monday night.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Hampton will be returning to the field in Week 14. This is a huge boost for the Chargers, and he can pair well with Vidal to offer a much-improved run game.

Before the injury occurred, Hampton was starting to come alive. He rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown in Week 4. He also had 44 yards in Week 5 before the ankle injury happened.
Hampton is a tough runner who can aid Vidal and the offense in adding another dangerous element to this strong offense. Herbert needs more so that he can stop taking costly hits.
Herbert suffered a wrist fracture and underwent surgery to repair it. He is set to play despite having just undergone the procedure to fix his wrist.
Los Angeles already lost Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt to season-ending injuries. Now, they will need to band together to continue winning. They are in a good spot at 8-4, and could be even better with Hampton returning to the lineup.
