The Chicago Bears ended a magical season with a thrilling-but-disappointing NFC Divisional Round loss to the Los Angeles Rams at Soldier Field.

Despite reaching overtime on a miraculous Caleb Williams heave to tight end Cole Kmet for a touchdown to help tie the game, the Bears were unable to seize victory in overtime, falling 20-17 to the Rams.

Chicago's season featured plenty of bright spots along the way, with young players who look like future stars of the league. Along with Williams, rookie running back Kyle Monangai and tight end Colston Loveland were standouts throughout the season and playoffs.

Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears

...

Several days after the team's upsetting playoff loss, the Chicago Bears' social media account announced that Loveland had made some impressive history.

According to the Bears, the former Michigan Wolverines player and Bears' first-round pick set a record for most yards by a rookie in the history of the NFL Playoffs.

"And he's just getting started," the Bears said in a message above their X graphic featuring Loveland.

Fans reacted to seeing Loveland's accomplishment during the team's playoff run, with many looking ahead to his future playing career in Chicago.

"Colston Loveland‘s future is bright," one X commenter wrote.

"Love to see the rookies succeeding… they work so hard to prove themselves. Show them what you’ve got Cole!!!" another X commenter said.

"better than travis kelce lmao," one commenter wrote.

In Sunday night's loss against the Rams, he didn't have his best performance, with four receptions out of 10 passes thrown his way for 56 yards and no touchdowns. His teammate, Kmet, was the recipient of Williams' heroic touchdown pass near the end of the fourth quarter.

Loveland also suffered a concussion during Sunday's game near the end of regulation, which caused him to miss the rest of his team's overtime battle.

In his previous performance against the Green Bay Packers in the Bears' NFC Wild Card game, Loveland was a significant contributor with eight catches on 15 targets for 137 yards.

Rumors have swirled about veteran tight end Kelce retiring as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason, but he's yet to make that announcement.

Meanwhile, there could be a passing of the torch of sorts, as Kelce leaves and Loveland's career begins to blossom in Chicago.
