Things are amiss with the Kansas City Chiefs, who now sit at a 0-2 record. The offense appears to be in disarray, and Patrick Mahomes is currently the leading rusher on the team.

On top of that, Mahomes has also been sacked four times in two games, and the concerns for the offensive line appear to be mounting. To be fair, the Chiefs have played the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, both of which have outstanding pass rushing.

Still, the Chiefs need more firepower, and that firepower could come in the form of their former star receiver.

For months, the Chiefs have been attached to making a play for Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, though nothing has amounted from those rumors. Now, the timing could be right to try and make a strong push for the star playmaker.

The Dolphins are currently 0-3, and could be facing a steep uphill battle to have a winning record and make the playoffs. That said, there are now plenty who are urging the Chiefs to try and lure Hill back his former team.

On "First Take" Stephen A. Smith and former NFL quarterback Cam Newton described this as the time in which the Chiefs need to make a play.

When Smith asked if Newton would go out and get Hill, he emphatically stated the Chiefs need to do just that.

"I'm getting him...We didn't have them issues while you was with us...You come to Miami and you dealing with a different batch than Kansas City, hello," Newton said.

The issue is that the Dolphins likely have no intention of trading Hill. That would be unless the Chiefs were to offer some strong draft compensation in the form of a first-round pick.

The problem is that Hill is 31 years old, and his production has slipped since 2024. That could be due to the Dolphins' offense stalling and Tua Tagovailoa being hurt, but Hill might not catch such a high draft pick.

Then again, if the Chiefs were that serious about landing Hill in a trade, they would likely have to offer a ridiculous haul to steal him away. Kansas City needs a receiver, especially with Xavier Worthy injured and Rashee Rice on suspension.

Even with Worthy and Rice returning in the coming weeks, having Hill would completely transform this offense. His deep threat abilities could also help to open the run game, which needs a jolt.

Hill being traded is a highly unlikely scenario, but the Chiefs could make a big play for him by sending the Dolphins a ridiculous haul.
