Dallas Cowboys star defender DeMarvion Overshown suffered a massive injury in 2024, as he tore his ACL, PCL, and MCL in a career year. Before the injury occurred, he secured 84 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR, 8 TFLs, and 1 defensive TD in 13 games.
Naturally, an injury like this would lead to plenty of time in recovery. However, Overshown is steadily working his way back to the field.
In fact, the Cowboys just received some massive news regarding the timeline for the star linebacker. NFL insider Andrew Schultz stated that Overshown is set for a return to practice, and November is the targeted month for his return.

Overshown took to X to not only confirm the news, but also to respond to the news.
"Matthew 21:22 - And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith," Overshown stated on X.
This is huge news for a Cowboys defense that has been struggling in 2025. The defense is giving up a league-leading 412.0 yards per game.
This includes 284.6 yards per game passing and 127.4 yards per game rushing. The silver lining is that the Cowboys' defense is not the worst in terms of stopping the run.
Still, having a quality linebacker like Overshown would do wonders for the defense. He could aid the pass rush while also being used in run-stopping situations.
Even with the NFL's worst defense, the Cowboys are currently 2-2-1 on the season. That is not a terrible record by any stretch of the imagination, and the offense under Dak Prescott has been keeping the team in games.
Dallas may choose to bolster the defense before the November trade deadline passes, but that could be for finding some quality cornerbacks to help teams be able to rack up yards through the air. Still, Overshown's return signals what could be a turning point for the Cowboys.
