After a debut plagued with struggle in Week 1, New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson led a stellar offensive push against the Cowboys to prove exactly why the Giants wanted him.

Wilson, entering his 14th NFL season, was placed into a starting position for a struggling Giants organization ahead of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, and entered Week 1 with massive expectations. But Wilson failed to find his rhythm last Sunday against the Commanders, unable to throw a single touchdown. His 17-of-37 stat line drew criticism from fans and media alike, questioning the veteran's abilities.

However, Wilson flipped the script in Week 2 against the Cowboys, throwing 30-of-41 with three touchdowns. His 450-yard performance was a career high, and part of a 77-point game between the Giants and Cowboys that went into overtime after Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey nailed a 64-yard field goal to tie the game 37-37.

Both sides of the field saw slow action during the first three quarters of play, with the Cowboys leading 17-16 heading into the fourth quarter. The next 15 minutes saw the Giants score three touchdowns and the Cowboys score two touchdowns and two field goals, including Aubrey's game-tying kick.

Overtime was nothing short of exciting as well, with both teams struggling to make it down the field for the first seven minutes. That is until, despite his stellar performance, Wilson threw a deep pass intended for Malik Nabers that was intercepted by Donovan Wilson.

The Cowboys would go on to win the game, 40-37, after Dak Prescott led the team into field-goal position with a 27-yard pass to George Pickens. Prescott had similar success to Wilson, throwing 38-of-52 for 361 yards and two touchdowns. The win marks Prescott's 14th straight win against the Giants since 2016.

Even though the game was a loss, Wilson's career-best performance was likely enough for Brain Daboll and the Giants organization to know who their starting quarterback will be going forward.
