The Miami Dolphins got a big win against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football, all but saving their chances of making the postseason. Now, the team has addressed their defense in a big way, signing former starting linebacker Tyrel Dodson off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

Dodson started all nine games for the Seahawks before being waived by the team. Now, he joins a solid defense to continue terrorizing opponents.
After the Seahawks surprisingly cut Dodson, he now joins the Dolphins with a chance to start once again.

Dodson had started in all nine games and secured 71 tackles in that time. Dodson spent the first four seasons of his career with the Buffalo Bills and was more of a rotational player in that time. However, things changed in 2023 when Dodson was elevated to the role of being used more, playing in more than 51 percent of offensive snaps.
The 2023 season would be Dodson's best, as he secured 74 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. The hope was that he would emerge as a defensive threat in 2024, but the Seahawks decided to surprisingly cut him. What is most surprising is Dodson has 71 total tackles through nine games, which is almost as much as he had in the entire 2023 season.
Now, Dodson joins the Dolphins, who are seeking help to rebound their season even more. After Miami struggled mightily without starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the team has shown some serious fight in their last two games.
The Dolphins nearly beat the Bills in Week 9, falling to a 30-27 final score. Despite being labeled as an "easy" win for Buffalo, they nearly took them down. Miami also breathed new life into their season by taking down the Rams on Monday Night Football.
Though the Dolphins are 3-6 on the season, they are now No.10 in the AFC and 1.5 games out of a playoff spot. Miami also has a very favorable schedule for the rest of the season, with the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots coming up.
The Dolphins have a real shot at turning things around and securing a playoff spot by season's end if they can continue winning hard-fought games like they did against the Rams. With a solid contributor in Dodson being added, it appears Miami is gearing up to win out the rest of 2024.
The Dolphins also need some pass rush with star linebacker Bradley Chubb still recovering from a torn ACL. They have a solid option with Dodson now in the lineup.
