The New York Giants wide receiver room is already thin following the season-ending ACL tear suffered by superstar pass catcher Malik Nabers in Week 4.

Now just one day before their Week 6 "Thursday Night Football" matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Giants were dealt another blow at the wide receiver position.

Starting wideout Darius Slayton is expected to miss Thursday night's primetime NFC East contest with a hamstring injury. The seventh-year Giants WR was spotted "limping badly" around the locker room on Tuesday, according to team insider Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Slayton suffered his hamstring injury late in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the previously winless New Orleans Saints. He was listed as a non-participant in each of the Giants' practice projections on Monday and Tuesday.

"I'd say we'll take it all the way up to the end like you usually do on short weeks," Giants head coach Brian Daboll said of Slayton's injury status on Tuesday.

Slayton is the Giants' third-leading receiver through the first five games of the season, trailing Nabers and Robinson. The 28-year-old wide receiver has 12 catches for 166 yards and zero touchdowns so far this year.

Slayton will likely return to the field when the Giants take on the Denver Broncos in Week 7.

Thursday's Eagles-Giants matchup will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.
