New York Giants fans are among the most frustrated in the NFL. Their team has made the playoffs just twice since winning the Super Bowl championship in the 2011 season, and it has won a total of 13 games over the last three years.

But the pieces may be in place for a resurgent 2026 campaign. The Giants seem to believe they have found their franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart, who showed promise as a rookie this past season. In running back Cam Skattebo, pass rushers Brian Burns and Abdul Carter and wide receivers Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson, not to mention new head coach John Harbaugh, they may be poised to surprise the league this coming fall.

Nabers tore his ACL in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, which prematurely ended his 2025 season. But his rehab seems to be progressing well, as evidenced by a new video of him working out.

While talking to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine, Giants general manager Joe Schoen gave a positive update on the timetable for Nabers' return.

“I’ve been texting with him the last couple of days, and he’s in a good spot,” Schoen said. “He feels good, and the plan is hopefully for him to get ready for training camp. Don’t hold me to it. Things change.

“... Every patient reacts differently, and you know, hopefully, there are no setbacks. The plan is for him to be ready to go for training camp.”

Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers

Nabers, the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Louisiana State University, where he led the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) in receiving yards as a junior, gave New Yorkers reason for hope as a rookie. That year, he collected 109 receptions, 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, and he was named to the Pro Bowl.

This past season, he had 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns in four games before suffering his ACL injury. His speed (he was clocked at 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash prior to the 2024 draft) makes him a big threat, and he is someone who could help Dart develop his game and confidence moving forward.

Giants fans shouldn't plan on a ticker-tape championship parade down the streets of Midtown Manhattan anytime soon. But a healthy Nabers, along with relatively good health throughout the entire roster, could allow the team to compete for a playoff spot this coming season, as long as Dart is as good a signal-caller as the franchise seems to believe.
