The Jacksonville Jaguars have continued to shock the NFL, putting together gritty wins. The team is now 4-1 behind new head coach Liam Cohen, and they have become the talk of the football town.

Though there is plenty to be excited about regarding the Jaguars, they were hit with some unfortunate injury news. Rising star tight end Brenton Strange has been placed on IR due to a quadricep injury he sustained against the Chiefs.

Losing Strange will be tough, as he was blossoming into a tight end that Trevor Lawrence and the offense depended on. He has secured 204 yards in five games, but was also used plenty in the blocking game. As NFL insider Jeremy Fowler stated, he was becoming an "every-down" tight end.

Now, the Jaguars will likely depend on Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long to fill the gap that will be left by Strange. Since he is placed on IR, he will not be eligible to return until Week 11, when the team takes on the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Jaguars do have their bye week in Week 8, but bye weeks do not count towards IR. Being designated on IR counts for missed games, and not missed weeks.

Strange will miss the Jaguars facing off against the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Houston Texans. The way that Jacksonville is playing, they may not skip a beat with their top tight end out with an injury.

Clearly, the quadricep injury Strange suffered was also significant enough for him to be placed on IR almost immediately.
