Heading into year two, Jayden Daniels is looking to continue on his path towards stardom in the NFL. Based on some of his recent actions, he is blossoming more into a leader for the Washington Commanders to rally behind.
Daniels burst on the scene in a big way last year, leading the Commanders all the way to the NFC Championship game. In a rare turn of events, he drastically altered the trajectory of the franchise in just one season. Understanding what a special talent they have, the Commanders have been hard at work equipping him with the necessary talent to succeed.
Over the past year and change, many people have applauded Daniels' leadership qualities along with his stellar play. His ability to carry the torch was on full display earlier this week, when the young QB went completely out of his way for one of his teammates.

Jayden Daniels opens up on gesture for Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt
On Monday night, Daniels made his preseason debut against the Cincinnati Bengals. Though his appearance in the game was brief, he still managed to make an impact. Aside from his thrilling touchdown run, his biggest moment came while he was on the sidelines.
Later in the game, rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt also managed to find the end zone. This was a noteworthy moment, as it marked his first touchdown in the NFL. Knowing how special it was to Croskey-Merritt, Daniels ran all over the field to get the right game ball to give to his teammate later.
While speaking with the media after Washington's 31-17 defeat, Daniels was asked about his gesture for Croskey-Merritt. He reflected on when his teammates looked out for him in a similar way last year and wanted to make sure Croskey-Merritt had something to remember the moment.
"It was his first one, I know he was super excited about it," Daniels said. "I still remember mine last year when Zach and Terry made sure I got my ball so had to return the favor."
