One of the most sought-after offensive talents in this year’s draft class is Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back and Heisman Trophy finalist Jeremiyah Love, who’s widely expected to be the first running back selected in April.
A potential suitor frequently rumored as a landing spot for the Fighting Irish star is the Kansas City Chiefs, who hold the No. 9 overall pick and are in need of a primary back after rushing for just 1,812 yards as a team last season. Kansas City finished 6-11, missing the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
On Friday, Love appeared on 'The Rich Eisen Show" at the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis and addressed the possibility of landing in Kansas City and playing alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“I see a lot of people saying I’m getting drafted to the Chiefs, Saints — I saw the Saints — saw the Commanders, saw the Cowboys not too long ago,” Love said. “I’d be blessed to go anywhere, but I try not to pay attention to that stuff.”
“I am from St. Louis, so I’d be close to home,” Love added when asked about ending up with the Chiefs. “Especially playing with Patrick Mahomes. I feel like he’s the best quarterback right now, the best in the league — top one — so it’d be an honor to play with him.”

“Playing alongside Mahomes would truly be an honor — KC fans are already dreaming about it,” one fan said.
Another added, “The Chiefs will be right back in the Super Bowl next year if they land a weapon like this.”
A third wrote, “PLEASE GET HIM, VEACH.”
“DRAFT THAT MAN,” another fan commented.

Last season, Love carried the ball 199 times for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. He also added 27 receptions for 280 yards and three receiving touchdowns, showcasing his versatility as a dual-threat back.
As of now, Love’s stock appears to be rising — which could spell trouble for Kansas City. Several teams picking inside the top 10 could consider selecting him, including the Arizona Cardinals at No. 3, the Tennessee Titans at No. 4, and the New Orleans Saints at No. 8. All three sit ahead of the Chiefs and could be in the market for a running back at some point in the draft.
