The New York Jets suffered their fifth loss of the season on Sunday, this time losing to the winless Miami Dolphins 28-25.

After being hired ahead of the 2025 season, Aaron Glenn has only provided disappointing results in New York. He now holds a 5-19 record since the beginning of last season—yikes.

Glenn is undoubtedly on the hot seat right now, and could even be the first coaching fire of the 2026 NFL season. He's receiving criticism from the outside, but Glenn is also not afraid to critique himself when needed. Here's how he opened up his post-game press conference on Sunday:

"When it comes to this game, highly disappointed, disappointed in myself first and foremost," Glenn said. "... We all have to get better. Coaching, playing, everything that we're doing, we have to get better. But, the thing is, this is seven games. We still have a number of games left, and that's how we look at it. We know what's going to happen from the outside in, we accept that. It is what it is."

Despite being down on himself about how the Jets are doing this season, Glenn isn't giving up. In fact, Glenn thinks his team is headed in the right direction now. We'll see if that ends up being the case.

“I would say yes. The reason why I would say that is cause there’s no quit in these guys,” Glenn said. “I know what the record is, I do, but I know what I feel about these players and how hard these players play. Come out the second half, it was probably doom and gloom from everything outside of it. But inside this locker room, the guys were ready to go and I think they showed up. I know that we’re not where we need to be, but I totally believe that we’re on the right track.”

The Jets always have heat on them as they're historically known as being one of the worst teams in the league. However, the Jets don't even have the worst record this season (that would be the winless Los Angeles Chargers), but they're losing close games. All but one have been one-score losses. New York had a chance of winning four more games, but failed to deliver.

The players are frustrated, too, in how the Jets have been playing. Cameras caught a heated moment wide receiver Garrett Wilson and quarterback Geno Smith on Sunday. The loss might've ignited a fire within them that's needed to turn the corner.
