Aaron Rodgers has been the most talked about player in the NFL over the last few days. Everyone is in wait and see mode regarding where he will end up signing. The New York Giants are anxious to find out.

Since NFL free agency opened, the Giants have been pursuing Rodgers. They clearly want to bring the 41-year-old signal caller in.

Unfortunately, they do not appear to be the front-runners at this point in time.

Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings are involved in discussions with Rodgers as well. The Steelers have been viewed as the front-runner, but a new update about the situation could hint that Rodgers prefers the Vikings.

According to a report from NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Rodgers is waiting to see what Minnesota wants to do. The Vikings have not decided yet if they want to sign Rodgers or not.

"Here's what you need to know," Russini wrote on X. "The Vikings are having discussions about what they want to do at quarterback and if they want Rodgers. Rodgers is giving them time and waiting to hear from Minnesota. The Vikings have yet to make a decision. We all wait."

What could this mean for New York as it waits to get an answer from the future Hall of Fame signal-caller?

Quite simply, Rodgers may view Minnesota as his best potential landing spot. Why else would he put his free agency process on hold with two other teams offering him quality destinations?

Perhaps he's simply doing his due diligence on the Vikings.

At the end of the day, the honest truth is that the Giants have an intriguing situation to offer Rodgers. However, both Pittsburgh and Minnesota can offer a more clear opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl.

Rodgers is coming off of a quality year with the New York Jets, despite the negative way he has been covered by the majority of the media. He completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

Those numbers are better than many other starting quarterbacks across the NFL.

Even though age is starting to catch up to him, Rodgers is more than capable of being a high-impact quarterback. With New York or any other team, he can help in the pursuit of a championship.

Expect to hear more news about Rodgers and where he will choose to sign in the near future. He's clearly not rushing his decision, but this situation should not end up dragging out for more than another week or so.
