Sunday gave the New York Jets an opportunity for their first win of the season, but the team was unable to hold on to defeat the Denver Broncos in London. Quarterback Justin Fields is likely to receive much blame and criticism following the loss.

The former first-round pick threw just nine completions for 45 yards and no touchdowns in a 13-11 loss. The Broncos sacked Fields nine times for a loss of 55 yards in what was the Jets' sixth loss of the season.

While the Jets held an 11-10 lead during one portion of the game, the Broncos' Bo Nix easily proved to be the better of the two starting quarterbacks, throwing for 174 yards and a touchdown on his 19-of-30 completed passes.

After New York's disappointing game, head coach Aaron Glenn was on the receiving end of questions about what went wrong. One of those questions was aimed at Fields, as a reporter asked if he would remain the team's starter next week after his terrible numbers.

"C'mon, man. What kind of question is that?" Glenn immediately asked after hearing it, appearing frustrated with the question.

Glenn suggested that some players will experience ups and downs and "have bad games." However, he said that doesn't mean "just bench him."

"C'mon, you know better than that," he said in calling out the reporter who asked him about Fields.

During the postgame press conference, Glenn agreed that Fields undoubtedly had a role in the Jets’ struggles, but he said other players also contributed to them, “not just Justin.”

“I understand where you are trying to take this. But listen, there’s a number of other guys, that you know, got to pick their game up, too,” he told reporters, adding, "I don't want to sit there and pin this all on Justin."

Glenn also said he'd have to review the film of the game to identify potential mistakes Fields made against the Broncos. However, he doubled down on keeping him as the team's starter, for now.

Along with today's game, Fields’ overall season hasn’t been off to a great start. So far, he’s completed only 71 passes for 754 yards and four touchdowns. While he’s yet to be intercepted, his performance hasn’t been inspiring, and the team remains winless.

Fields became the team's starter following three disappointing seasons with the Chicago Bears, followed by another as a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the latter reached the postseason, Fields did not contribute anything to their playoff appearance.

The Steelers opted to go in another direction for this current season, acquiring veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, who so far has guided them to a winning record.
