The Las Vegas Raiders' season is unraveling quickly. After getting off to a hot start, winning their first three games over the Dolphins, Chargers, and Saints, the latter two of which came on the road, Vegas has now lost four straight, capped off by Sunday's ugly 35-21 loss to the Rams at Allegiant Stadium.

The Raiders were thoroughly outplayed in the first half, allowing four straight touchdown drives as the Rams built a 28-6 halftime lead. Kirk Cousins threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns, but Vegas failed to establish a running game, finishing with just 48 total rushing yards on 17 carries (2.8 yards per carry). The loss has dropped the Raiders to 3-4 on the season, while the Rams have improved to 3-4.

After the game, CBS Sports analyst Pete Prisco argued that Las Vegas should seriously consider trading star pass rusher Maxx Crosby, with the team clearly still in rebuild mode.

"The trade deadline's coming up. Maxx Crosby is a wanted commodity. And they traded Maxx Crosby once; let's not forget that, and I'm sure people remind him of that all the time. So when the trade deadline comes, I think they should be sitting there and saying, 'You know what, we can get a bunch of assets for a guy that's probably not going to be around here when we become something with our young quarterback,'" Prisco said.

Crosby remains one of the Raiders' most important players and a pillar on defense, but his individual production hasn't been there this season, with just 18 combined tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble through the first seven games. That's a steep drop-off from last season, when he recorded 73 total tackles and 10 sacks in 15 games before his meniscus injury. He's also not getting any younger, with Crosby having just turned 29 years old in August.

Trade speculation isn't new with Crosby. Earlier this year, the Raiders agreed to send him to Baltimore in exchange for two first-round picks, but the Ravens backed out at the last second after medical concerns emerged during his physical. Crosby has undergone surgery on his knee after playing through the injury last season, but he hasn't yet played up to the elite level he was at a year ago.

A trade would make sense for all sides. The Raiders could acquire valuable draft picks for a long-term rebuild centered around Fernando Mendoza, Ashton Jeanty, and Brock Bowers, while a contender could add a proven pass rusher for a playoff run. Crosby would also have a chance to compete for a Super Bowl, something the Raiders are still clearly well off from doing.

The Cowboys and Bears are two teams that have been recently linked to Crosby. They both need more firepower on defense and have built rosters ready to compete right now. The Jaguars and 49ers have also been floated in the past. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10.
