Los Angeles appears willing to do what it takes to help their 38-year-old quarterback compete for a Super Bowl next season.
When speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Rams general manager Les Snead suggested the team would be willing to trade a first round pick for an All-Pro player. Los Angeles knows they want to add help for the secondary.
Los Angeles has been having trade talks before the start of the league's new year.
"Les Snead sounds like a GM ready to be aggressive to maximize Matthew Stafford’s window: - Open to trading a 1st-rounder for a proven player," Nate Adkins of The Athletic posted on X. "Secondary a big focus — 'Is there an All-Pro that you could add?' - Trade talks are intense this time of year and they’re having them."
Snead also told reporters that the Rams have been in touch with representatives for Stafford. Those conversations are in a "stable place" at this point in the offseason.
One key thing to note, the Rams have not had conversations with wide receiver Davante Adams, set to play in his final year under contract during the upcoming season.
