The Los Angeles Rams have designated center Steve Avila and guard Jonah Jackson to return from injured reserve. The Rams announced the news via their official social media.

Avila suffered a knee injury in Week 1 of the season and hasn't played since. Additionally, Jackson has also missed a majority of the year after fracturing his scapula during the Rams' Week 2 blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Rams head coach Sean McVay said Jackson and Avila would "start their clocks" to return from IR. McVay shared that Jackson will play against Miami on Monday night, while there is also a possibility Avila could too.
"Good thing is we got an extra day to be able to kind of get that figured out leading into the Dolphins [game], which we know is going to be a great challenge," McVay said via the team transcript.
Avila underwent surgery to repair his MCL, which was a huge loss since the sophomore was poised for a solid campaign in 2024.

Avila's availability depends on how his practice week goes. McVay added: "We'll see how he's feeling and how he's doing."
Although the Rams will get back Jackson in Week 10, the team will lose another starting offensive lineman to injury in right tackle Rob Havenstein.
Havenstein will miss the matchup against the Dolphins because of an ankle injury, but the good news is that he is only expected to be sidelined for a single game. And thus, the Rams could finally have their starting offensive linemen on the field in Week 11.
It would mark the first time this season that all five starters would take the field together. The Rams have been plagued by injury since training camp.
It was in training camp that the team decided to experiment with their offensive line. After acquiring Jackson in free agency, the Rams decided to move Avila to center and place Jackson at left guard.
It was an interesting decision given Avila was a stellar left guard in 2023. As a rookie, Avila never missed a snap at left guard. Although Jackson played left guard for the Detroit Lions, he's stated multiple times that it was actually center where he was most comfortable.
With the looming return of Avila and Jackson, the Rams likely will put Avila at left guard and Jackson at center.
