The Baltimore Ravens may be without star quarterback Lamar Jackson when they take on the Denver Broncos this weekend. He has missed practice for the second straight day as he deals with some knee issues.
His status for Week 9 remains very much up in the air at this point. NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the news on social media.

If Jackson has to miss this game, it would be a massive loss for the Ravens. Baltimore just dropped a heartbreaker on the road against the Cleveland Browns last week so they need their leader on the field.
Both the Broncos and Ravens sit with a record of 5-3 on the season so this game could determine seeding down the line. Jackson is the full catalyst for the Ravens offensive attack so everything would be changed if he can't go.

On the year, Jackson has been electric while helping the Baltimore offense take flight. He has thrown for 2,099 yards with 17 touchdown passes and just two interceptions.
On the ground, he has rushed for 501 yards and two scores. His dual-threat ability has been on full display and helped keep opposing defenses on their toes all year.

If Jackson isn't able to go in this game, it would be a disappointment to more than just the fans. Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix has been looking forward to playing against Jackson in this game as well.
"He was electric in that one, too," Nix said, noting that he'd never met Jackson in person. "I'm excited to play against him on the same level. It's still crazy I get to play against these guys. Growing up and watching him, he's a two-time MVP and he's been doing it for a few years now at a high level.
"I definitely don't want to be compared to him at running the ball, because I'm not quite there."
Backup quarterback Josh Johnson would take over for the Ravens in this game, drastically changing the likely outcome. He has completed one pass this season on one attempt over two short appearances.
The Ravens are hoping that Jackson will play in this game but they also won't risk the health of their franchise star. Missing multiple practices throughout a week can be tricky but Baltimore has to wait and see how Jackson feels closer to the start of the game.
