After blowing out the San Francisco 49ers in their NFC Divisional Round clash, the Seattle Seahawks looked like a strong contender to reach and win the Super Bowl.

However, they'll have to get past the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, and without the services of one of their star offensive players.

The Athletic’s Michael-Shawn Dugar reported the news on Monday (via Seattle Sports), indicating running back Zach Charbonnet is done for the playoffs due to “a significant knee injury,” which will require surgery.

Charbonnet reportedly suffered the injury during Saturday night's 41-6 win over San Francisco, where he wasn't a major contributor, but provided a backup running back to Kenneth Walker III.

This past season, Charbonnet recorded 730 yards and 12 touchdowns on 184 carries. His touchdown mark was tied for sixth in the NFL with Buffalo Bills running back James Cook.

Against the San Francisco 49ers, Charbonnet recorded just 20 yards on five carries. Walker had the bulk of the Seahawks' offense on the ground with 19 carries for 116 yards and three touchdowns.

He was Seattle's second-round pick in 2023 out of UCLA and only missed two games in his three seasons with the Seahawks.

Ahead of the Carbonnet injury news, Seattle was a 2.5-point favorite at home against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game and was the odds-on favorite to win this year's Super Bowl.

Those were both true after the Charbonnet news, suggesting for now that they can shake off the injury and continue with the rest of a talented roster.

With Charbonnet out, they'll continue to rely on Walker, Velus Jones Jr., and Rashid Shaheed, among other backups, to help with the ground game against the Rams.

It's also worth noting that Sam Darnold's passing might need to step up, as the Seahawks quarterback threw for just 124 yards and one touchdown against the 49ers.
