In Sunday's Minnesota Vikings game, a scary-looking play involving Green Bay Packers defenders and Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray drew strong attention from teammates and the referees.
On the play, Murray looked to pass, then took off running to gain rushing yards for his team. Murray seemed to lower his shoulder as he tried to get to the ground, with Packers defenders Lukas Van Ness and Javon Bullard both diving at him.
The way Bullard lowered himself and dove into Murray, who was already down, had a terrifying impact that replays revealed, which could have caused a serious issue to the Vikings quarterback's head and neck area. Murray was down on the field for a short while after the brutal hit, but eventually walked off on his own.

That strong hit forced him out of the game, and he remained under evaluation for a concussion, which continues into this week.

After the game, Vikings offensive tackle Brian O'Neill shared his blunt reaction about the earlier hit he witnessed on Murray, claiming he wished he had taken an opportunity to send a message back to the Packers.
"It was so bang, bang. You don't want to freak out if you're wrong. I was probably wrong to not freak out more than that. So I kind of wish I took a shot at him," O'Neill said of the incident.
According to ESPN, he was one of the first players to arrive after Murray went down. O'Neill shoved Bullard after seeing the hit, and it was likely difficult to fully process the extent of what had just happened or the nature of the injury. He kept himself composed rather than reacting with a harsher retaliatory decision.
Referees gave the Packers a 15-yard penalty for Bullard's unnecessary roughness after the play. Bullard could potentially receive a fine once the NFL further reviews the incident.
Murray appeared only briefly in the first quarter, ending his Vikings debut much earlier than anyone wanted. He finished with 18 yards, throwing 3 of 5 completions, and also threw an interception.
The Vikings still achieved a thrilling 39-22 comeback win over the Packers, thanks to backup quarterback Carson Wentz. They're optimistic that Murray could return for Week 2, but if not, Wentz has shown he can still lead teams to big wins.
