The Chicago Bears made a statement with an impressive road win against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, on Monday night. As a result, former Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson is ready to put Bears quarterback Caleb Williams amongst the elite quarterbacks in the NFL.

Going against the NFL's top ranked defense in yards allowed per game was a difficult proposition on paper for the Bears offense. But Caleb Williams rose to the occasion, playing mistake free football en route to a 34-17 victory.

Discussing the Bears win on the most recent episode of his CBS digital show "Set Hut" on Tuesday, Wilson gave his ranking for where he views Williams amongst the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, saying that he believes that Williams and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow are the two best quarterbacks in the league.

"It's him and Joe Burrow as the best quarterbacks in the National Football League right now," said Wilson of Williams. "Purdy is up there, what he does. He has all that talent. These two guys are dominant on the football field. To me, when I watch Caleb Williams, I see this dynamic quarterback that has that animal instinct that we talked about on Sunday. I think there is a confident quarterback that can be a Super Bowl champion."

The stats certainly back up Wilson's claims for Williams being among the best quarterbacks in football this season, if not the very best.

Not only has the team success been there for Williams and the Bears. But Williams also ranks in second in completion percentage among quarterbacks who have started the majority of their teams games behind just Joe Burrow and second in QBR behind just Brock Purdy.

Sitting at 6-2, the Bears find themselves in position to truly contend for a Super Bowl championship this season. So if Williams is able to lead his team to a deep postseason run this year, expect many more analysts to follow Wilson's lead and unanimously view Williams as one of the NFL's best quarterbacks.
