Drew McIntyre received a storyline suspension on "WWE SmackDown" after a chaotic main event. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McIntyre is being written off television as he is taking time off to film a movie.
"SmackDown" General Manager Nick Aldis handed down the indefinite suspension at the very end of the November 7 broadcast. The night had been filled with tension stemming from the previous weekend's Premium Live Event.
The show began with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes celebrating his successful title defense against McIntyre at "Saturday Night’s Main Event." Rhodes acknowledged the controversial finish to that match but stated he was ready to move on.

His promo was cut short by the arrival of Aleister Black and Zelina Vega. Black, flanked by Vega, entered the ring and stated he was ready for a new challenge, implying he wanted a shot at Rhodes.
After Zelina Vega slapped Rhodes, Aldis booked a non-title match between Rhodes and Black for the main event. This match was intended to establish a new potential challenger for the champion.
The main event proved to be a back-and-forth contest between the two. The match spilled to the outside, where both men were downed near the timekeeper's area.

As referee Dan Engler was administering a 10-count, an enraged Drew McIntyre suddenly stormed the ring. McIntyre immediately laid out the official with a Claymore kick, causing the match to be thrown out as a no-contest.
A chaotic brawl erupted post-match between Rhodes and McIntyre, picking up where their title match left off. Aleister Black soon got involved, and the two heels began a two-on-one attack on the champion.
The assault was halted by the unexpected return of Damian Priest. Priest, who had not been seen since losing a Last Man Standing match to Black on "SmackDown" last month, ran to the ring to even the odds.
Priest brawled with both McIntyre and Black, sending the heels retreating. As all four men stared each other down, Nick Aldis appeared on the stage.
Visibly frustrated with McIntyre’s actions, Aldis suspended the Scottish star indefinitely for striking a WWE official. McIntyre was escorted from the building by security.
McIntyre’s storyline suspension and real-life filming schedule will take him out of action for the foreseeable future. This removes him from any potential involvement at "Survivor Series: WarGames" on November 29th.
The "SmackDown" brand's main event for the San Diego show is reportedly a WarGames match. That match is slated to feature The MFTs (led by Solo Sikoa) facing The Wyatt Sick6 (led by Uncle Howdy).
With McIntyre gone, Cody Rhodes is left without a clear challenger for his Undisputed WWE Championship at the event. Meanwhile, the return of Damian Priest and his immediate confrontation with Aleister Black suggests a new personal rivalry is just beginning.
