TNA Wrestling has crowned a new champion, and it happens to be a former WWE star. The "NXT" crew recently taped the Nov. 25 episode of the developmental brand in New York City. During the show, Kelani Jordan put the TNA Knockouts World Championship at stake against Jordynne Grace and Lei Ying Lee.

Lee ended up pinning Jordan to become the TNA Knockouts World Champion for the first time in her professional wrestling career. Lee's victory means that a TNA Wrestling star is once again in possession of the Knockouts gold.

Lei Ying Lee's Journey Post-WWE

Lee's time with WWE dates back to 2017, when she competed in the Mae Young Classic. She was known as Xia Li, and she ended up performing at several "NXT" live events. In 2019, Lee began appearing on WWE programming more regularly.

After spending some time on "NXT," Lee was called up to the main roster in 2021. She was drafted to the "Friday Night SmackDown" brand. Lee was sent to "Monday Night Raw" in 2023, but she was released from her WWE contract the following year.

Lee wasn't without work for long, as she made her TNA Wrestling debut just five months after her WWE exit. So far in her TNA run, Lee has faced the likes of Tessa Blanchard and Rosemary. She also formed the Angel Warriors tag team with Xia Brookside, who was also once a member of the WWE roster.

The TNA Knockouts World Championship is the lone title of relevance that Lee has won in her in-ring career. There's no word on who Lee's first challenger will be, but her stock will receive a significant boost once the title change airs on "NXT Gold Rush" night two.
