For weeks, a mystery crate has appeared on WWE television, marked to be opened on Feb. 28, 2026, the same night as the company's Premium Live Event, Elimination Chamber, in Chicago.

It would show up on "Monday Night Raw," just for the general manager, Adam Pearce, to send it over to "Friday Night SmackDown" to handle. Then, Nick Aldis, the GM of that show, would do the same, sending it back to "Raw" for those wrestlers to handle.

It became a promotional whodunit tennis match, with each week raising the tension on what (or who) was actually inside the box.

Since the crate mystery first dropped, the fan favorite theory was that it would be the return of the legendary Chris Jericho.

Jericho, who hasn't appeared on WWE television for almost a decade, was one of the first pillars of rival All Elite Wrestling. Jericho was AEW's first world heavyweight champion and built a storied career in Tony Khan's organization, though he hasn't appeared in nearly a full year.

Another leading candidate was another AEW wrestler, Danhausen, whose comedic, wacky gimmick would align with being stuck in a box for a month.

On Saturday, the box was opened, and the answer was finally revealed to be in fact Dahhausen.

The former AEW wrestler came out of a coffin inside the wooden crate following the World Heavyweight title match between CM Punk and Finn Balor.

It was a huge night for Punk in his home city of Chicago, as his wife AJ Lee defeated Becky Lynch for the Intercontinental title before his match. Danhausen and Punk are also close friends, which capped off an unforgettable night for the Chicago legend.

CM Punk is set to face Roman Reigns in the main event of night two for "WrestleMania 42" at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
