A former WWE champion recently revealed that his dream match would be against CM Punk. The star also claimed that he was fully prepared to fight The Second City Saint backstage upon his return to the company.
That star is 35-year-old Grayson Waller, who made the comments during an appearance on "INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet". When asked about his dream opponent, the "Aussie Icon" noted that he had always wanted to get in the ring with the newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion.
However, Waller clarified that he wanted to wrestle the "real" CM Punk. He stated that the veteran has "changed a lot and gone soft" since his return.

Waller pointed to the locker room drama that led to Punk’s AEW release. He said he was ready for that same energy when the veteran came back to WWE, but was disappointed.

"I guess I was ready to fight him backstage. I thought that’s what we were gonna do," Waller said. "I was like, 'This is gonna be sick,' like he’s gonna start causing chaos, like he’s gonna beat gonna beat up little flops backstage again, I’m in dude."
Waller added that the 47-year-old has instead transformed into a "nice person" who is helpful to everyone, including talent in "NXT". This is not the version of CM Punk that Waller respects or wants to feud with.
"But now he’s just a really nice guy and very helpful to everyone, helps everyone at NXT and does all this. That’s not the Punk that I love," Waller added. "I want to bring it back out, so I’m gonna get that opportunity."
He stated that he has already told Punk to his face that he plans to provoke him. "I’ve told him to his face, I’m like, 'There’s gonna be a day where I’m gonna stand across from you with a microphone, and I’m gonna tell you exactly what I think about you, and I want you to tell me exactly what you think about me.'"

Waller may be focused on CM Punk, but the new champion already has a major target on his back. On the most recent edition of "Monday Night Raw," Punk teamed with Jey Uso against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
The match ended in a double count-out, but The Vision maintained the upper hand in the ensuing brawl. Punk grabbed a steel chair to neutralize the heels, which brought out Logan Paul.
Paul entered the ring, and it appeared he was going to assist Punk against Breakker and Reed. Instead, he punched the World Heavyweight Champion in the face with brass knuckles and joined forces with The Vision.
This attack solidified Paul Heyman's new faction, which is now set for a major match. Logan Paul is likely to team up with The Vision for the upcoming "WarGames" event.
While Grayson Waller's dream match remains a personal goal, CM Punk's immediate future is set. The main event for the "Raw" brand at "Survivor Series: WarGames" has been announced.
The match will see new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Jey Uso team up. They will step inside the cage to face The Vision, now comprised of Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and its newest member, Logan Paul.
