'Succession' Season 3 Filming in Italy as Fans Eagerly Await HBO Show's Return

Filming for the hotly-anticipated third season of Succession is officially underway in Italy. The show, which started in 2018, follows the story of the affluent Roy family and their battle for power and wealth as they navigate control of their family's billion dollar empire.

In a shock turn of events, season two ended with Kendall (Jeremy Strong) making a U-turn on his decision to take the fall for the family business' sexual harassment scandal, in turn betraying his father Logan (Brian Cox).

The show's costumer Midge Denton has now revealed the cast and crew are off to film in Italy. On Sunday, Denton shared a photograph at John F. Kennedy International Airport, with the caption: "Off to Italy for Succession Season 3! If I could have skipped with joy down this walkway I would have, beyond excited!!"

HBO announced Succession would be returning for a third instalment back in 2019. The drama was widely reported to have an expected air date sometime in 2021.

However, show star Cox confirmed in an interview with The Scotsman that the production had been delayed due to the pandemic.

HBO's head of programming Casey Bloys told Deadline that if there are no more coronavirus related delays viewers can expect Succession to return later this year.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of the show's third season and have been regularly sharing their agony over the delay on social media.
