Texas Man Allegedly Stabbed Wife on Mother's Day After Argument Over Going to Church
A 43-year-old man in Texas has been accused of brutally stabbing his wife multiple times with a screwdriver on Mother's Day before abandoning the scene, according to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office.
On Monday, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office identified the 43-year-old suspect as Rodolfo Madera Gonzalez and shared his picture on Facebook, asking for help from the public to track him down.
"Rodolfo Madera Gonzalez who is 43 years of age is wanted for Aggravated Assault with a weapon- Family Violence a 1st-degree felony," the sheriff's office wrote. An official arrest warrant was issued on Sunday afternoon for Gonzalez "after deputies and investigators responded to a female that had been stabbed."
The crime allegedly occurred on 300 block of County Road 6108 in Nacogdoches. As per the sheriff's office Facebook post, Gonzalez "got into an argument with his wife on mother's day because she wanted to go to church."
"The argument escalated, and Gonzalez is accused of stabbing his wife with a screwdriver numerous times in the front and back of her body." The victim was transported to the hospital and her condition was reportedly stable at the time of post.
Gonzalez is believed to be driving a 2007 Gray Dodge Ram ½ ton pickup truck bearing Texas License plate number BS9-9021.

The suspect is believed to be on the run and has possibly left the area. He is also wanted for violating a protective order, which is a 3rd-degree felony, according to the post. The alleged assault on his wife is being pursued as a 1st-degree felony.
"There was an argument ... she wanted to go to church, an argument erupted. I'm sure there were some other things involved but he ended up stabbing her," Nacogdoches County Sherriff Jason Bridges told The Christian Post. He also noted that further details could not be released, as the incident is still under active investigation.
"We have a mother that was stabbed by her husband. Regardless of what the argument was over or wasn't over, it was a brutal attack and it shouldn't happen no matter what they're arguing about," he told the Post.
