Mom Claims We've Been Eating Pineapple Wrong This Whole Time, Sharing Genius Hack

One of life's simple pleasures is enjoying some juicy fresh fruit.

However, some of these delicious natural snacks are laborious to eat. Yes, we are talking about pineapples.

That golden goodness requires a fair amount of elbow grease before you can bite into a chunk.

But this doesn't have to be the case, as one mom on TikTok has revealed her easy-to-follow hack, claiming we have been doing it wrong our "whole life."

Shannon Doherty, a mother of four known on the video-sharing app as @athomewithshannon, posted her ingenious hack for eating pineapple on April 24, with the caption: "*BEST PINEAPPLE HACK EVER* Life changing!"

She continued: "Tips and Hacks from Mom of 4! #momhack #parentinghacks #amazonfinds #learnontiktok."

But how does one go about this?

The video begins with Doherty standing in her kitchen, wearing a floral top and a pink headband, holding a pineapple.

She then asks viewers: "Have you been eating pineapples wrong your whole life? Me too!

She then rips off the top, while the voiceover says: "You do not need a knife to open them, twist of the top and pound it down."

Next, the TikTok creator bashes the fruit against the kitchen counter, before rolling it forwards and backward, saying: "Roll it a lot."

After doing this Doherty then pulls at one of the spikes, and a piece of the fruit comes free for her to enjoy.

The mom then adds: "Pull apart pineapple. What?! Share with a friend."

The clever trick has gained lots of traction online, having been viewed by over 191,000 people and received over 19,700 likes.

Many took to the comments section to share their delight at the method.

One TikTok user wrote: "Thanks for doing this I really hope it works because I always eat pineapples."

Another person, Aaron Jones is the Best, added: "My mom needs to know this because it always takes her forever to cut pineapple."

Melanie Peaslee added: "Wow what a great tip! Thanks!"

Joy typed: "wow that was so amazing."

However, for some people the tip did not prove useful, with one person, Ro, writing: "I tried but its not working."

Doherty responded the comment, saying: "It works!!"

This is not the only brilliant hack that Doherty has shared. Her account, which has over 23.8 million likes, is crammed full of with tips and tricks on parenting and home life.

She recently showcased a method for organizing kitchen cupboards using only a baking sheet, as well as a way to help fussy kids try new food.
