'She's Not Shy': Toddler Dancing to Eminem Rap Leaves Internet in Stitches

A toddler caught dancing to Eminem has left the internet in stitches after a delightful video went viral on TikTok.

Shared on Tuesday by user caitlinhunter758, the video shows the young girl standing on top of a bed and dancing in front of a mirror to the popular rapper's tune.

With more than 2.4 million views, the video has delighted internet users who have flooded to the comments.

"She's on stage and there's 80,000 people in the crowd screaming her name (in her imagination at least)," said one commenter.

Another TikTok user wrote: "So cute! Her little smile when she sees you."

This mini-performer's dancing has bought joy to the internet, but research shows that dance can do much more for us. A 2020 study from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia examined the health and well-being impact of dance on 19 participants.

Six of the participants focused on the effects of partnered dance, while the remaining 13 were involved in group dancing. Results found that dance participants contributed positively to well-being and health across cultures and age groups, helping participants to construct and maintain their cognitive function, physical health, stress reduction, self-perception, and mental health.

It isn't just mood that can be improved with a bit of dance—research conducted in 2018 by the University of São Paulo, Brazil compared the motor development of children who practiced dance with those who did not.

The study focused on 85 children in their first year of elementary school—splitting them into two groups, one that would take part in an educational dance program and a group that would not. The study found that children who participated in the educational dance program achieved significant gains in their general motor development compared to those that did not take part in the dance program.

Another commenter on the viral TikTok video said: "Hype her up, she's living the best life," while one viewer wrote: "This literally made my whole day."

"If I had a daughter... this would be her," wrote another TikToker.

"She's not shy is she," wrote another: "Most kids would have stopped when they realised they were being watched. She's brilliant, you go girl!"

In a more recent video, caitlinhunter758 shared another video of her little girl sitting having breakfast to the sound of Tupac's Hit 'Em Up.

But not all kids dancing is as well received – earlier this month a video of kids gatecrashing a wedding first dance sparked fury online, with one commenter saying: "This moment is so special, so hold the kids back."
