Who Is Jamie Allman? Conservative TV Host Resigns After Threatening Parkland Survivor David Hogg

A St. Louis TV show host at a Sinclair Broadcast Group-owned station has stepped down after he threatened to assault a Parkland shooting survivor on Twitter.

Jamie Allman, the host of nightly news show The Allman Report on KDNL in St. Louis, Missouri, and morning radio show Allman in the Morning on KFTK-FM, tweeted in late March that he was "getting ready to ram a hot poker up David Hogg's ass."

"When we kick their ass they all like to claim we're drunk. I've been hanging out getting ready to ram a hot poker up David Hogg's ass tomorrow. Busy working. Preparing," Allman wrote in a tweet which has since been deleted. A screenshot of the tweet can be found on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Following the highly inappropriate comment, advertisers began to boycott KDNL, including Ruth's Chris Steak House, PALM Health and The Gellman Team. Social media users also criticized Allman's remarks, as did Stacey Newman, a Democratic state lawmaker in Missouri.

"We have accepted Mr. Allman's resignation, and his show has been cancelled," Ronn Torossian, a Sinclair spokesperson told the Washington Post.

Prior to hosting The Allman Report, Allman once worked as a spokesperson for the St. Louis Archdiocese.

After the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14, survivor David Hogg became a gun control activist. Hogg co-founded Never Again MSD, a gun control advocacy group led by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students. His activism has led to conspiracy theories and personal attacks from conservatives.

Last month, Laura Ingraham, a Fox News host, made fun of Hogg for not being accepted into four colleges that he applied to. Hogg retaliated by encouraging others to boycott her show The Ingraham Angle, which led to several advertisers pulling out of her show.

Allman had also weighed in on Hogg's response to Ingraham's comments.

"You can't say 'Hey I'm just a kid,'" Allman said of Hogg on The Allman Report. "We have to be allowed to refute what you're saying… or to respond to it, you can't be all the time grabbing your blanket when the going gets tough."
