Why Did 'Selling Sunset's' Davina Leave the Oppenheim Group and Where Is She Now?

Selling Sunset Season 4 is here and fans may be surprised to see Davina Potratz in the new episodes after she announced last year that she would be leaving the Oppenheim Group for good.

In the first episode of Season 4, Jason Oppenheim explains that he is looking to replace Davina. Later in the season opener, it is revealed that Vanessa Villela and Emma Hernan will be joining the company in her place.

Newsweek has everything you need to know about Davina Potratz's exit from Selling Sunset.

Why Did Davina Leave the Oppenheim Group?

Davina Potratz has been a part of the Selling Sunset family since the show began in 2019.

However, in October 2020, she revealed that she would be leaving the Oppenheim Group for a rival real estate agency.

She told People magazine: "I'm really excited to be a part of Douglas Elliman and their very sophisticated and global new development division. My background is in new development sales and marketing, so this is just a wonderful opportunity for me. It's just very in tune with my skills."

Douglas Elliman has offices around the country, including New York City and Los Angeles.

There seems to be no bad blood between Davina and her former employer, with boss Jason Oppenheim issuing a statement praising the realtor to People.

He said: "Davina has always been a tremendous asset and a valued agent at the Oppenheim Group, and she is also a friend whose career decisions I very much respect and support.

"I will always want the best for Davina, and I hope that we continue to work together in the future."

Davina has not quit the Selling Sunset universe for good, however. Ahead of the Season 4 premiere, she confirmed that she would be returning on her Instagram.

Alongside a photo of colleagues Heather Rae Young and Hernan, she wrote: "One more week until season four is out! What are you most excited to see?"

Her fans could not be happier, with one commenting: "I'm excited to see YOUUU." Another wrote: "Excited to see lots of you in Season 4, Davina! Can't wait!"

A third viewer chimed in: "Davina you're the best!"

Davina has become a fan favorite over the years, in part thanks to her ability to stir up drama among her colleagues.

She often clashed with fellow realtor Chrishell Stause. In Season 3 in particular, the two did not see eye to eye over Chrishell's sudden divorce from This Is Us actor Justin Hartley.

There is more good news for fans of Davina. Douglas Elliman has branched out into reality TV, with some of the company's realtors starring in Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles.

Selling Sunset has also been renewed for Season 5, so viewers should keep their fingers crossed for Davina's return in 2022.

Selling Sunset Seasons 1 to 4 are streaming on Netflix now.
