Wordle, a daily word puzzle, draws in thousands of people around the world each day to play the game which gives users six attempts to guess a randomly generated five-letter word.
The brainteaser was created by Brooklyn-based software engineer Josh Wardle, and quickly became an internet sensation after its release late last year, with social media users flocking to platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to share their results.
After it became a major success, it was purchased by The New York Times in February, and since then, many alternatives have popped up, such as Quordle, which asks players to guess four letters at once, the music-based Heardle, and the math-based Nerdle.
The daily word game is free to access here.

The rules of Wordle are simple: players must solve the five-letter word in just six tries, but the fewer attempts it takes, the better.
Generally, your guess should contain as many vowels as possible, to rule out any that are or aren't present in the word.
To play, you need to pay attention to the game's color-coded grid system, which shows you how close you are to guessing the word of the day, depending on what color the tiles turn after you input a word as part of your six attempts.
A letter that's in the correct position will turn a tile green, while a letter that is included in the answer, but is in the incorrect position, will turn a tile yellow. Finally, the tile will turn gray if you select a letter that is incorrect altogether, meaning that it isn't part of the Wordle of the day at all.
After successfully guessing the answer, a box appears that players can share on social media. It shows how many tries it took to solve the puzzle.
If you fail to guess the answer, it resets the following day with a brand new word.
