Wordle #469 Clues, Hints and Answer for Saturday, October 1 Puzzle

Wordle has developed into a worldwide sensation since first being released to the public in October 2021.

The word puzzle was invented by Josh Wardle, a New York-based software developer originally from Wales.

Wardle designed the game "for me and my partner to enjoy," though it now has millions of players and was brought by the New York Times in January 2022 for an undisclosed seven-figure sum.

The rules are very simple. Each day the player must guess a five letter word in six attempts or less. After each attempt the letters light up, showing how accurate your predictions were.

If a letter goes green it is both in the word and in the correct position. Yellow means it is in the word but in the wrong place, whilst gray indicates it does not feature at all.

Speaking to Newsweek in January Wardle admitted he sometimes struggles with his own game.

He said: "Well, I did create Wordle and I'm not very good at it, so there's your answer! I'm afraid I'm not really the best.

"[My partner] and I play it on the couch together each morning. She will consistently get it in three goes, which is way, way better than I can ever hope to achieve. I normally need at least 4 or 5 attempts."

Wordle's popularity has helped inspire a number of other online games including Worldle, Quordle and the math-based Nerdle.

The answer to today's Wordle will be revealed at the end of this article, so scroll down with caution. To help you solve it, Newsweek has provided some hints and tips on the latest puzzle.
