WWE Draft 2020 Rules and Eligible Wrestlers Revealed for 'SmackDown' and 'Monday Night RAW'

Ahead of this year's WWE Draft, the rules and eligible wrestlers have been revealed.

The two-night event begins Friday, October 9, on SmackDown and continues on Monday, October 12, on Monday Night RAW. This draft will shift the rosters on both brands to freshen up feuds and storylines.

First reported by Ryan Satin of Fox Sports, the rules of the WWE Draft 2020 have now been finalized:

  • Over 60 Male Superstars, Female Superstars and Tag Teams have been placed into the 2020 WWE Draft.
  • More than 20 Superstars are eligible to be drafted on Friday night and more than 30 Superstars are eligible to be drafted on Monday night.
  • Due to the length of each show, for every two picks that SmackDown selects, Raw will get three picks.
  • Tag Teams will count as one pick unless FOX or USA Network, in conjunction with WWE Officials, wants to pick one Superstar from the team.
  • Any undrafted Superstars will immediately be declared free agents and able to sign with the brand of their choosing.

The WWE Superstars have been split into two pools for this year's draft. The wrestlers on Friday's eligibility pool can be drafted to either RAW or SmackDown. Some of the names in the first night's pool are sure to raise some eyebrows.

RAW Women's Champion Asuka is eligible to be drafted, but SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley isn't until Monday. That could mean nothing, but Bayley is defending her title on Friday against Sasha Banks—who is eligible to be drafted that night—so Bayley could be title-less as she waits to be drafted on Monday.

Here's the full list of eligible wrestlers on night one of the 2020 WWE Draft:

As for Monday's eligible draft pool, the aforementioned Bayley is in it, along with Intercontinental Champion, and SmackDown wrestler, Sami Zayn.

The entire Retribution stable is up to be drafted, along with the RAW Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits. Will we see a champion from RAW move to the blue brand? It's unlikely, but this year, with both shows under one roof, anything can happen.
