AJ Styles Returns to WWE 'Monday Night RAW' and Earns Money in the Bank Spot

Former WWE Champion AJ Styles returned on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW as the final participant in the last chance gauntlet match.

Styles, who was last seen in the epic boneyard match between himself and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36, defeated Humberto Carrillo with the Calf Crusher to win the gauntlet match and become the final participant in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match.

Following his victory, Styles would viciously beat down Carrillo after the bell and get on the mic to proclaim his return to Monday Night RAW.

He immediately acknowledged his match against The Undertaker and reassured everyone that he wasn't a ghost or zombie after being buried by "The Phenom." But he didn't technically lose the match.

Styles also proclaims that he is going to take advantage of this opportunity in the most unique Money in the Bank ladder match ever.

Styles and the rest of the competitors in the last chance gauntlet match were given this opportunity after Apollo Crews injured himself in the US Championship match against the champion, Andrade last week.

The gauntlet match started with Bobby Lashley and Titus O'Neil, with Akira Tozawa, Shelton Benjamin, Humberto Carrillo, Angel Garza, and Austin Theory eventually joining the match.

A lot has changed on Monday Night RAW since WrestleMania 36 and Styles' last WWE appearance. Not only has Drew McIntyre become WWE Champion after defeating Brock Lesnar, but Styles' OC cohorts, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, were casualties of the April 15 WWE layoffs.

Gallows and Anderson made their last WWE appearance during the boneyard match alongside AJ Styles. They tried to help Styles, but The Undertaker would dispatch them one by one.

Both Gallows and Anderson were among notable names released from WWE that included Kurt Angle, Zack Ryder, and Drake Maverick.

Styles will now travel to WWE Headquarters in Connecticut to take part in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match. AJ will be joined by fellow Monday Night RAW competitors Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black while SmackDown will have Otis, King Corbin and Daniel Bryan compete.

AJ Styles has competed in a Money in the Bank ladder match before. He was a part of the 2017 Men's MITB ladder match, a bout that was ultimately won by Baron Corbin.
