The story of Jeffrey Dahmer, one of the world's most infamous and terrifying serial killers, is coming to Netflix.

For DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, its full title, co-creator Ryan Murphy has teamed up with actor Evan Peters, with whom he has worked on the acclaimed series American Horror Story and Pose.

Peters, 35, plays the serial killer of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, and the actor looks almost unrecognizable in the role.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will premiere on Netflix worldwide on Wednesday at midnight P.T.

All of the 10 episodes will drop at once for viewers, who will be able to watch offline via the Netflix app.

What Is 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story' About?

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story follows the life of a serial killer who also dismembered many of his 17 victims and engaged in necrophilia and cannibalism.

Events will also be told from the point of view of his victims, the people who tried to stop him, and those who knew him. The series will show the several systematic failures that allowed him to carry out his crimes for more than a decade.

The official Netflix synopsis says: "Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent victims. DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is a series that exposes these unconscionable crimes, centered around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America's most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade."

Who Is in the Cast of 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story'?

Peters plays the lead role and starred in HBO's Mare of Easttown as Detective Colin Zabel, winning an Emmy for his performance.

The Shape of Water's Richard Jenkins and The Artist's Penelope Ann Miller portray Dahmer's parents, Lionel and Joyce.

Emmy-winner Niecy Nash portrays the neighbor, Glenda Cleveland, who alerted police on numerous occasions to Dahmer's concerning behavior.

Michael Learned, who has starred in The Waltons and Nurse, portrays Dahmer's grandmother, Catherine. Molly Ringwald, famous for The Breakfast Club, appears as Shari, his stepmother.

Also starring are Shaun J. Brown as Tracy Edwards and Colin Ford as Chazz.

Is There a Trailer for 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story'?

Yes, the full-length trailer was released on Friday, and Netflix announced a second one will drop on Tuesday at 8am PT.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the official Netflix account tweeted: "Over the course of 10 powerful episodes, DAHMER shines a spotlight on the as-yet untold stories of Dahmer's victims, the people who tried to stop him, and the systemic failures that enabled him to continue his murderous spree for over a decade. Which is why we needed two trailers to properly showcase the complex story."

In the trailer, Nash's character Glenda Cleveland can be heard asking Dahmer about the screams she can hear from his apartment, the smell, and the use of a drill during the night.

He is then seen giving Cleveland a sandwich and asking her to eat it, but she refuses, not sure of what meat is in it. The trailer then flashes through scenes of Dahmer cooking what appears to be human flesh.

Towards the end of the trailer, Dahmer is seen sitting in a courtroom wearing an orange jumpsuit as Cleveland shouts at a police officer in a flashback: "I called you for months. Y'all came too late!"
