Donald Trump's Children Gain 156,000 Twitter Followers After Joe Biden Becomes President

While Donald Trump's Twitter account remains permanently suspended, the profiles of most of his children show have continued to signs of growth.

Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany Ariana Trump have picked up thousands of new followers on the platform since January 20, when Joe Biden was inaugurated, with only Eric Trump appearing to be suffering through a period of sustained decline.

Between January 20 and January 24, Ivanka Trump gained 54,839 followers, Trump Jr. amassed 75,946 and Tiffany Trump picked up 25,565, analytics show.

Prior to a rise of 96 followers last Saturday, Eric Trump's follower count had dropped for 16 consecutive days, plunging by more than 302,500 between January 7 and January 22 according to statistics from the social media tracking firm Social Blade.

Trump Jr. appears to now be the most active relative of the former president on Twitter, although he has recently used it to advertise his Telegram presence.

Aside from Eric Trump, each of the other family member's Twitter accounts had shown relatively consistent growth before January 9, roughly three days after a violent mob of the former president's supporters stormed the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

On January 9 alone, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany Trump collectively lost more than 98,000 followers, with tens of thousands more accounts continuing to vanish from their profiles over the next week, Social Blade analytics suggest.

The sudden tanking appeared to coincide with Twitter's mass removal of QAnon content, which saw tens of thousands of accounts suspended starting on January 8.

"These accounts were engaged in sharing harmful QAnon-associated content at scale and were primarily dedicated to the propagation of this conspiracy theory across the service," Twitter said in a blog post published on January 12.

"Our updated enforcement on QAnon content along with routine spam challenges, has resulted in changes in follower count for some people's Twitter accounts. In some cases these actions may have resulted in follower count changes in the thousands."

At the time, the mass enforcement had caused Republican politicians and conservative personalities—including Florida representative Matt Gaetz and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo—to complain about a significant cull of their Twitter followers.

Former President Donald Trump remains silenced on Twitter after being suspended on January 8 for multiple posts deemed to have the potential to incite further violence. He was also blocked or restricted on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Meanwhile, another popular social networking destination for conservatives, Parler, was forced offline amid content moderation disputes with Amazon, Apple and Google.
