A pregnant rescue cat has melted hearts among social-media users after being caught checking the results of her ultrasound in a video that has gone viral.

The clip, shared on TikTok earlier in February under the username @ittybittykittycatrescue, shows the pregnant cat lying on the veterinarian's table as they perform on ultrasound on her to check on her babies. Just like a human mom would, the feline even turns her head toward the screen as if to check that her kittens are all doing well.

"The cutest ultrasound you'll ever see!" reads layover text in the clip. A caption says: "We rescued Eleven when she was VERY pregnant and she got her first ultrasound to make sure everyone was good and healthy."

Lockwood Veterinary Group says that pregnancy in cats usually lasts around 65 days; however, some felines make take up to 70 days to give birth, which is fine as long as the mom is eating, acting normally, and there is no sign of vaginal discharge.

Signs of pregnancy usually start showing during the fourth week, when she will have a larger tummy and nipples, and her appetite will increase.

The U.K. charity Cats Protection says that, during pregnancy, you should feed your pet the best-quality food because she will need lots of nutrients as she prepares to nurse the newborn kittens.

When it's time, your cat will need a warm and safe environment. You can set up a special area for her somewhere quiet; warm; and preferably semi-enclosed (for example, a cardboard box with the top cut off and a cat-flap-sized hole in one side).

This area needs to be comfortable for your cat with plenty of clean, dry blankets. It should also be away from any harsh lights, and near anything that she may need, including food, water and litter tray.
