All summer long, it has appeared almost inevitable that Alvaro Morata will be moving on from Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old striker only arrived back from Juventus at the end of last season, and it was thought Madrid wanted to cash in on a valuable commodity.

But now Morata looks more likely to stay, which means Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane needs to offload a striker from his squad.

The unlucky man? Jese Rodriguez Ruiz, more commonly known as just Jese, who grew up through the Real Madrid youth system.

Marca, the Madrid-based newspaper, reported Jese is wanted by a host of top clubs across Europe.

And according to British radio station talkSPORT, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are leading the chase for his signature.

With Daniel Sturridge never certain of making it through a season without injury, Klopp could certainly do with another striker. The Liverpool manager is blessed with pace and trickery on the wings, but he needs a goalscorer to finish off the chances Sadio Mane and teammates will create.

Jese has experience of UEFA Champions League football, though he has never quite been able to hold down a starting place in the Madrid first-team lineup.

Klopp could offer him the perfect destination to kick-start his career.
