Cats Accidentally Recreate Iconic 'Lion King' Scene in Incredible Footage

For those of us who grew up in the 90s, or had children then, Mufasa's death in Disney's The Lion King is a movie scene seared into our memories.

In the now iconic, and somewhat traumatizing, sequence the king of the pride saves his infant cub and heir Simba from a stampede, only to find himself hanging from a cliff edge.

He calls for his brother Scar to help him, but the villain instead sinks his claws into Mufasa's paws crying: "Long live the king!" He then pushes him, which causes the king to plunge to his death.

However, for those of you who haven't watch this scene in quite some time, it has inadvertently been reenacted by two pet cats—which makes for unmissable viewing.

In footage shared to TikTok by user @mariahgarrett, two cats can be seen playing on top of a large mattress which has been propped against a wall.

The black cat is walking just behind the ginger pet, and when the latter turns around it finds itself handing from the side of the mattress.

The audio is from the 1994 film, and one can hear Mufasa ask: "Scar, brother, help me!"

The black feline peers over the edge, as though deciding what do do, before it pushes the ginger cat's paw meaning it loses its balance and falls to the floor.

Then Scar's iconic line bellows over orchestral accompaniment. The video has been edited in such a way that it is perfectly in time with the film audio.

The clip was first shared to TikTok on November 22, 2020, where it received 3.3 million views and 617,600 likes.

However, Garrett recently re-shared her own video on May 23, and it has so far garnered a further 2.2 million views.

Many people flooded the comments section with their thoughts on the impressive video.

One TikTok user, Stiich, wrote: "I wasn't prepared for the level of perfection this editing was."

Another person, Kimirree, added: "The timing is just impeccable."

Michelle typed: "Wow they must've rehearsed this a bunch of times."

An account holder by the name of user7415527673921 commented: "The fact that even the colors of the cats kinda match the sound is amazing."

Nagisa exclaimed: "These cats should have been in the live action version."

Additionally, if felines and Disney films are what you love, this heartwarming clip of a cat and a baby deer playing together is sure to lift your mood.

The video was posted to TikTok on May 11 by Taylor Hoff, known online as taylorhoff08.

In the footage, the two nuzzle up together, with the black fluffy feline at one point curling his tail around the fawn.

The pair then touch noses, clearly getting to know each other, in a scene that appears to be straight out of a wholesome cartoon.

Hoff captioned the video: "new Disney movie: the cat and the deer. #lewisthedeer #walterthecat #fyp."
