'Minions: The Rise of Gru' Soundtrack: All the Songs in Animated Film

Like its predecessors in the Despicable Me franchise, Minions: The Rise of Gru has a stellar soundtrack that includes the iconic Diana Ross.

Despicable Me may have seen Pharrell Williams' "Happy" become a global hit but there's plenty to enjoy in its second prequel.

Jack Antonoff, the record producer for Minions: The Rise of Gru, shared details of the film's full soundtrack via Instagram on May 10.

He raved about getting his favorite musicians to remix beloved 70s hits, and he admitted that the recording session for the animation was "special and bizarre."

In his social media post about the soundtrack, he wrote in the caption: "my favorite 70s songs performed by my favorite artists + an original i wrote with sam dew, patrik berger and kevin parker performed by diana ross and tame impala called 'turn up the sunshine'.

"recording sessions for these were some of the most special and bizarre ..... stories one day [sic]."

As well as Ross' new song with Tame Impala, "Turn Up The Sunshine," the film's soundtrack includes St Vincent's new take un Lipps Inc's "Funkytown" and Antonoff's band Bleachers covering John Lennon's "Instant Karma!"

Other covers include Simon & Garfunkel's "Cecilia" recorded by the Minions, who are voiced by Pierre Coffin, and Earth, Wind & Fire's "Shinine Star" covered by Brittany Howard and Verdine White.

RZA, who voices a character in the film, also performs the original track "Kung Fu Suite" for the animated feature film.

K-Pop star Jackson Wang, who rose to fame as part of the group GOT7, also covers Patrick Hernandez's "Born To Be Alive" for the film.
