Who's Died in 'Narcos: Mexico' So Far? Every Major Death in Season 1 & 2

Narcos: Mexico is quite the violent show, and given the subject matter this shouldn't come as a surprise.

The Netflix crime drama retells the history of the Mexican drug trade under Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo (played by Diego Luna) and the all-out war that broke out following his arrest.

With Season 3 set to be released on Friday, November 5, here is a recap on which major characters have died in Narcos: Mexico so far.

Who died in Narcos: Mexico Season 1?

The biggest death in Narcos: Mexico Season 1 was certainly Michael Peña's character, DEA Agent Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena.

Camarena was a real American intelligence officer who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by members of the Guadalajara drug cartel in 1985.

Gallardo and cartel leaders Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo and Rafael Caro Quintero were arrested and found guilty of Camarena's kidnap murder.

Camarena's death is a key driving force for the plot of Seasons 1 and 2 of Narcos: Mexico, and what happened to him was also mentioned several times in Narcos.

In Episode 2, "The Plaza System", Gallardo shoots and kills Mexican drug lord Pedro Avilés (played by Antonio Lopez Torres) after he was shot by police officers.

Episode 6, "La Última Frontera", saw Cuban drug lord Alberto Sicilia Falcon (Luis Roberto Guzmán) get shot by a member of the Mexican intelligence agency, the DFS, under Gallardo's orders.

In "Jefe de Jefes", the seventh episode of the season, Quintero (played by Tenoch Huerta) kills two tourists, John Walker (Brian Buckley) and Alberto Radelat (Jeff Grace), after he suspects the pair for being spies following a drug binge.

The same episode sees Gallardo kill Director-General of the DFS, Salvador Osuna Nava (played by Ernesto Alterio), with an ashtray for insulting him.

Who died in Narcos: Mexico Season 2?

Season 2 of the hit Netflix show saw tensions rise between the Gudelajara cartel's Sinaloa and Tijuana plazas, an animosity that continues into Season 3.

As a result, a number of low-level criminals were killed over the course of the season including Juan Manuel Salcido Uzeta, aka Cochiloco (played by Andrés Almeida), who was killed by a Tijuana assassin in Episoe 6, "El Dedazo."

Mexican DFS agent Sergio Espino Verdin (Pedro Giunti) was killed officer Danilo Garza (Miguel Rodarte).

Episode 8, "Se Cayó El Sistema", showed the fate of Pablo Acosta (played by Gerardo Taracena); he was shot by Commander for the Mexican Federal Judicial Police Guillermo Calderoni (Julio Cesar Cedillo) on Gallardo's orders.

The tenth episode, "Free Trade", was particularly disturbing as Sinaloa plaza leader Héctor Palma's (Gorka Lasaosa) wife Guadalupe (Viviana Serna) and children Hector and Nataly were killed by Enrique Clavel (Andres Londono).

Clavel killed Palma's family when Gallardo put him up to it to punish the man for thinking of separating from the Guadalajara cartel.

Palma got his revenge in the same episode when he killed Clavel by bludgeoning him with a baseball bat.

Narcos: Mexico Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix now, and Season 3 will be released on Friday, November 5.
