NXT's Chelsea Green Makes WWE Television Debut on Monday Night RAW

While watching the December 23 episode of Monday Night RAW, fans may recognize a WWE superstar making their debut on the main roster.

Chelsea Green took on Charlotte Flair on Monday Night RAW, marking her first appearance on WWE television. This is an interesting fact considering she has been a part of NXT as part of a tag team with Deonna Purazzo - who made her own debut on the December 16 episode of RAW.

Although Green fell to the former Women's Champion on Monday, her debut could mean some big things for her.

Here's a few tidbits on Chelsea Green from her time in NXT and pre-WWE.

CHELSEA GREEN JOINED PERFORMANCE CENTER IN 2018

In October 2018, Green was one of seven new signees to the WWE Performance Center. That class was stacked with talent that included not just Green but Humberto Carrillo, Damian Priest, Mia Yim and Matt Riddle.

"Canadian grappler Chelsea Green has competed around the world, wrestling in faraway places like India and Australia, as well as throughout North America. A product of Lance Storm's Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary (the same school where Tyler Breeze, Peyton Royce and Oney Lorcan trained), Green first came onto the WWE Universe's radar as a competitor in the 2015 season of WWE Tough Enough. Before wrestling, Green was a multi-sport athlete who excelled in soccer, volleyball, basketball and track."

THE FORMATION OF VXT

Following Green's wrist injury in March that sidelined her for months, Chelsea would hit the road with NXT forming a stable with Deonna Purrazzo and Rachel Evers to form VXT.

While the stable hasn't appeared on NXT television, Purrazzo and Green were in the Full Sail crowd during an episode of the weekly series. They have similar designed shirts and it seems that WWE are perhaps looking to push them as a team in the cross-brand women's tag division.

GREEN'S PRE-WWE SUCCESS

Chelsea Green would make a splash on a season of Tough Enough alongside future WWE superstars Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and Velveteen Dream.

While Green wouldn't win, the experience would help her land spots in promotions like Lucha Underground and Queens of Combat but she would find the most success in Impact Wrestling. As Laurel Van Ness, Green would be the typical "mean girl" in a stable formed by Maria Kannellis. However, her character would undergo a major change when she became "the hot mess" after being left at the altar during a wedding angle.

This character change would make her a fan-favorite and push her to becoming Knockouts Champion in December 2017. She would be atop of the Knockouts Division until her signing with the WWE.
