All the 'Star Wars' Prequels Actors Returning for 'Obi-Wan Kenobi'

Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered on Disney+ on Friday, May 27, with the first two episodes of the limited series about the Jedi master.

It is set in the aftermath of Revenge of the Sith, in the period between the prequel trilogy and the original Star Wars films.

As a result, fans of the iconic franchise will recognize many familiar faces in the show, particularly actors who appeared in the prequels.

Here is everything you need to know about the actors who are returning.

1. Ewan McGregor

If you didn't already know Ewan McGregor was returning as Obi-Wan Kenobi then you haven't been paying much attention.

McGregor is reprising the role he first took on in 1999's The Phantom Menace. He took the mantle from the late Sir Alec Guinness, who played Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy.

2. Hayden Christensen

Joining McGregor is Hayden Christensen, who first played Anakin Skywalker in the 2002 film Attack of the Clones.

At the end of Revenge of the Sith, Skywalker made the final steps of his transformation into Darth Vader. In Obi-Wan Kenobi, Christensen appears as the Sith Lord.

Lucasfilm's president, Kathleen Kennedy, had previously teased that the Disney+ series would have the "rematch of the century" between the two.

3. Jimmy Smits

Jimmy Smits originated the role of Senator Bail Organa in Attack of the Clones and plays him again in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Senator Organa took in Leia, the twin daughter of Anakin and Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman), in Revenge of the Sith, raising the baby as his own.

Smits also reprised the role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

4. Joel Edgerton

Joel Edgerton appeared as Owen Lars in the prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, and returns in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Owen and his wife Beru took in Anakin and Padme's baby son Luke to raise on Tatooine, out of sight of the Empire but still under the watchful eye of Kenobi.

To keep Luke safe, the moisture farmer ensured that he was unaware of his Jedi powers and forbade Kenobi from seeing or training him.

5. Bonnie Piesse

Rounding off the Lars family is Bonnie Piesse, who again plays Beru.

Like Edgerton, Piesse appeared in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith before returning in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

6. Temuera Morrison

Temuera Morrison has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Obi-Wan Kenobi, not as the bounty hunter Boba Fett but as a clone trooper.

Morrison played Jango Fett and all his genetic clones in the prequels, first appearing as the character(s) in Attack of the Clones.

In the second episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi the Jedi Master heads to Daiyu to find Princess Leia Organa, who was captured in Episode 1. While walking through the streets of the city, he comes across a clone begging for credits.

Morrison plays a bedraggled-looking clone trooper who is clearly down on his luck, and asks Obi-Wan for help. The Jedi chooses to do so despite his past conflicts with clones.

Morrison previously returned to the franchise to portray Boba in both The Mandalorian and his own Disney+ limited series The Book of Boba Fett.
