Piers Morgan Storms Off TV Set Amid Accusations He 'Trashed' Meghan Markle

British conservative broadcaster and former CNN host Piers Morgan has dramatically stormed off the live set of a popular British breakfast show amid accusations he "trashed" Meghan Markle following her tell-all interview.

The TV host was confronted by co-star Alex Beresford during a Tuesday live recording of Good Morning Britain and criticized over his public tirade against Meghan since the Sunday broadcast.

Morgan has had much to say about Meghan's bombshell remarks following the interview, describing her appearance as nothing more than a "whine-athon" and "self-serving nonsense."

In an op-ed written for the Daily Mail, Morgan called the allegations an "astonishing unproven claim" from a woman who "aggressively plays the mental health and race cards."

In another interview with Fox News he described Meghan's one-on-one with Oprah as "the acting performance of her life" adding it was "designed to portray her as the ultimate victim."

However on Tuesday, Beresford endeavored to probe Morgan more about his feelings towards the mother-to-be.

"I understand that you don't like Meghan Markle and you've made it so clear a number of times on this program," Beresford began. "And I understand that you got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle—or had one—and she cut you off. She's entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don't think she has. But yet you continue to trash her."

Evidently unimpressed, Morgan then gets up from his seat and storms off the set, telling his fellow co-hosts "I'm done with this".

The show paused for a brief break after Beresford described Morgan's abrupt departure as "absolutely diabolical behavior".

Morgan, an ardent royalist, returned to the set almost 20 minutes later where he slammed Beresford for "launching a personal derogatory attack" and added: "What we need to do is talk about it in a civilised manner, considering we work on the same show on the same team."

Beresford revealed that he had been asked about what his unborn child's skin tone would be in light of Meghan's claims that while she was pregnant with her son, members of the royal family expressed "concerns" about how dark the color of the baby's skin would be.

She told Oprah: "We have in tandem the conversation of, 'You won't be given security, not gonna be given a title' and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he's born."

Morgan has been vocal in his disbelief of Meghan since the interview aired.

"This interview is an absolutely disgraceful betrayal of the Queen and the Royal Family," he tweeted on Sunday. "I expect all this vile destructive self-serving nonsense from Meghan Markle - but for Harry to let her take down his family and the Monarchy like this is shameful."

Morgan drew particular attention to the fact the interview was aired whilst Prince Philip is still recovering in hospital following heart surgery.

"For Harry to have caused so much hurt to his grandmother the Queen at a time when her husband lies seriously ill in hospital, is just appalling," the outspoken talk show host tweeted.

"Let's be clear: Prince Harry and his wife just spent two hours trashing everything the Queen stands for and has worked so hard to maintain, whilst pretending to support her. And they did it while her 99yr-old husband Philip is seriously ill in hospital. It's contemptible," Morgan added.

"They basically make out the entire Royal Family are a bunch of white supramacists by dropping this race bombshell," he exclaimed in an angry on-air tirade.

Morgan again took to Twitter to describe the interview as a "disgraceful diatribe of cynical race-baiting propaganda designed to damage the Queen .... and destroy the Monarchy."

"Is it too late for Oscar nominations?" the 55-year-old quipped, adding "I wouldn't believe Meghan Markle if she gave me a weather report."
