POKEMON GO HALLOWEEN 2019 EVENT START TIME

The 2019 Pokémon Go Halloween event begins Thursday, October 17 at 4 p.m. EDT and ends Friday, November 1 at 4 p.m. EDT.

SHINY YAMASK

A new Pokémon from the Unova region will debut during the Halloween event. Yamask, the pure Ghost-type Pokémon, will be catchable in the popular mobile game starting Thursday.

Similar to the debuts of Patrat, Klink and Lillipup, Yamask's Shiny form will be available in the overworld. Simply interact with a Yamask in the wild to have an increased chance of finding and catching a Shiny Yamask.

COSTUMED POKEMON

Pokémon wearing different hats or clothes are not new to Pokémon Go, but for this year's Halloween event players will be able to catch the Gen 1 starters in adorable costumes.

Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Pikachu will appear in Raids and in the wild in Halloween costumes. Charmander wearing a Cubone costume, Bulbasaur wearing a Shedinja costume, Squirtle wearing a Yamask costume and Pikachu wearing a Mimikyu costume will all be available to catch.

Lucky players can find these Pokémon in their Shiny variants as well.

NEW RESEARCH TASKS

There will be new research tasks added to Pokémon Go when the event begins. These tasks will likely have to do with catching Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon. Here's the whole list of new research tasks.

A special research quest will also be available, giving Pokémon Go players a chance at catching Spiritomb.

NEW SHADOW POKEMON

Team Go Rocket will have new Pokémon in their arsenal starting October 17. Pokémon Go trainers can fight and catch these new Shadow Pokémon from Team Go Rocket: Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Electabuzz, Magmar, Lapras, Mareep, Seedot, Nuzleaf, Sableye, Trapinch, Cacnea, Shuppet and Duskull.

RAID UPDATE

The Raids in Pokémon Go will change when the Halloween event begins. Players will find more Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon in Raids, but the highlight of this update will be the debut of Darkrai.

IN-GAME BONUSES

Players will receive double candy for catching, hatching and transferring Pokémon during the two-week event.

Trainers will also be able to customize their avatar even further with brand-new clothes. Be sure to check the in-game shop for more details.
