The latest Pokémon Go update changes which Pokémon appear in Raids and that includes Regirock, the third, and last, of the Hoenn region Regis.
Now that the Regice and Registeel Raid battles are complete, Regirock will appear from Aug. 16 to Sept. 20, so there is time to gather your friends and take the Rock-type Pokémon down. Here's all the information on how to catch Regirock, along with the best counters.
HOW TO CATCH REGIROCK
Regirock spawns from five-tier Eggs that appear on the top of Gyms until Sept. 20. These Eggs are purple and silver in color and are signified by five stars under the Raids tab.
Once you've found a Regirock Raid Battle, head over and enter the Gym by tapping on it. The Pokémon Go queue will group you up with any other trainer who has entered the battle. After 90 seconds have passed, the fight will begin.
We don't recommend going solo in a Legendary Raid Battle, you'll run out of time before you can take down the Pokémon.
Tap and swipe the screen to attack and avoid attacks until Regirock's health is depleted. The next phase will be catching the Pokémon. You'll be given at least five Premiere Balls (possibly more, based on whether the Gym is part of your team, how much damage you dealt, and so on). The new Social Feature can also increase the strength of your Pokémon and give bonus Pokeballs, depending on how many hearts you've obtained with a Friend.
The capture part of the battle is part luck and part skill. Trainers need to be patient to avoid throwing the ball in a way where Regirock can knock it aside or jump out of the way. You only have the balls given to you at the end of the battle to use, but you can also use Berries to make it easier. If you fail to catch it, Regirock will run away and you'll have to do another Raid Battle to get another chance.
REGIROCK COUNTERS
Regirock is a pure Rock-type Pokémon and is weak to Water, Grass, Ground, Fighting and Steel attacks.
According to Pokémon Go Hub , the only moves Regirock has are: Rock Throw (fast), Rock Smash (fast), Stone Edge (charged), Zap Cannon (charged) and Focus Blast (charged).
With all of that information, here are the best counters for Regirock:
- Kyogre with Waterfall and Hydro Pump
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Groudon with Mud Shot and Solar Beam
- Venusaur with Vine Whip and Frenzy Plant
