'Pokémon Go' Ultra Bonus Week 2: Start Time, Shiny Regional Pokémon and More

The second Ultra Bonus Week event is about to begin in Pokémon Go, and with it comes new Shiny Pokémon and lots of changes to the Raid battles.

Week one of the three-week event was based on the Johto region, giving Pokémon Go players an increased chance of finding a Shiny Sentret or Shiny Gligar. Pokémon found in Raids and the overworld also represented Gen 2. But this week there's no one region that will receive the spotlight, instead we're getting two.

Here's everything you should know if you want to take advantage of everything involved with Pokémon Go Ultra Bonus Week 2.

Pokémon Go's Ultra Bonus Week 2 will begin Monday, September 9 at 4 p.m. EDT and end Monday, September 16 at 4 p.m. EDT.

There are many region-exclusive Pokémon in Pokémon Go, but only the original four get the spotlight this week.

Farfetch'd, Tauros, Kangaskhan, and Mr. Mime will all begin hatching from 7km Eggs picked up from friends during the event time. This is a perfect opportunity to fill out your Kanto Pokedex.

These four Pokémon's Shiny variants will also make their Pokémon Go debuts during the event.

If you need a refresher on where the original four region-exclusive Pokémon are located, here's the list:

  • Tauros - North America
  • Farfetch'd - Asia
  • Kangaskhan - Australia
  • Mr. Mime - Europe

All four of their Shiny forms include green in their color schemes. Farfetch'd, however, gets a bit more yellow in its coloring. If you aren't sure if you hatched a Shiny Pokémon, go to their entry and see if they have the Shiny Pokémon symbol next to their name.

It's unclear if other region-exclusive Pokémon will appear in 7km Eggs during this event, but we'll update this article if we learn more.

The Mythical Pokémon, Deoxys returns to Raid Battles for this week. However, all forms of the pure Psychic-type Pokémon will be present in Level 5 Raids during Ultra Bonus Week 2.

There are four Deoxys forms in total (Normal, Attack, Speed and Defense) so be sure to explore and catch 'em all.

When Deoxys appears in Raids, so will other Pokémon. The Raid bosses will update when the event begins, and these raids will be filled with Pokémon that can help take down Deoxys. In other words, expect a lot more Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon to appear.

We'll update this section when we know the full extent of the changes.
